January 1, 2022 (Jasper County, S.C.) - Following participation in a tournament this past week (December 28, 29 and 30), one of the players on our girls’ varsity basketball team has tested positive for COVID.

Those associated with the team are following the applicable CDC protocols at this time; all will be tested at five (5) days (Tuesday, January 4) - again, per protocol.

Anyone who has been in contact with team members or coaching staff is advised to contact our COVID nursing staff at our High School testing site Monday, January 3, 2022 for follow-up guidance.

Further, the necessary notification has been made with the other teams who participated in the tournament.

"The Jasper County School District extends our deepest condolences regarding the loss of one of our scholars, DeAndre' Robinson, 5 years of age, whose life was shortened by a fatal shooting Tuesday night in the Wagon Branch area. Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends. May the grace of God keep you during this tragic loss."

Every year, Mayor Harry Williams, Mrs. Williams, and Sun City residents' partner to make Christmas a joy for the scholars in Jasper County School District.
This year, Santa’s Toy Box Drive collected toys that were gifted to the kids at Ridgeland Elementary School by Sun City Residents.
We extend a warm thank you to Chris Chase, Jennifer Combs, Beth Williams, organizers of the Santa’s Toy Box Drive. They, with the Women's Club of the Low Country, assembled donors from Sun City Hardeeville and Sun City Beaufort. Hardeeville Mayor, Harry Williams, partnered with the Town of Ridgeland and JCSD’s Transportation Department to pick up and deliver the gifts.
We wish a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone in the community that gave Jasper County students their time, attention and energy.
