About Tenika Evans, Math Curriculum Content Specialist
Tenika Evans is from Marion, SC and entering her 13th year in education as Jasper County School District's Math Recovery Specialist. For the past two years, she’s served as the Assistant Principal at Hardeeville-Ridgeland Middle School and Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School. Prior to coming to Jasper County, she served in the following roles:
- Middle Years Programme Coordinator and Algebra 1 teacher at Williams Middle School
- Math teacher at Sneed Middle School
- Curriculum Facilitator and math teacher at Palmetto Middle School
Ms. Evans received her Educational Leadership certification from Lamar University. She has an Education Specialist degree from Walden University in curriculum, instruction, and professional development. She has a Master's in leadership and management from Webster, and her undergraduate studies were done at Francis Marion University.
She is a member of the following organizations:
- South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA)
- South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (SCCTM)
- South Carolina Leaders of Mathematics Education (SCLME)
Her goal as the math specialist is to improve the math instruction and student achievement on district and state assessments in JCSD’s schools by providing quality, effective, systemic, and researched-based instructional coaching services.
