Meet Travis Washington

Mr. Washington is excited to get to work showing the world all of the awesome work that is being done at JCSD. Travis joined the school district in February of 2019 as a Fiscal Services Specialist in the finance office.

 

His promotion to Public Information Officer puts him back into his element. Before joining JCSD’s finance office, Travis was 14-years into an Emmy-Award-Winning career in television-news.

 

His career path began at Appalachian State University where he earned a Communications degree in Electronic Media & Broadcasting. His career as a Photojournalist has taken him through WTOC in Savannah, WBTV in Charlotte as well as WJLA in Washington, DC. He served in his most recent post at the White House covering the Trump Administration for WPLG’s DC Bureau.

A graduate of Wade Hampton High School (Hampton) and Early Branch, SC native,

Mr. Washington is happy to be home.

 

He feels blessed for the opportunity to bring his family, wife (Chrissy) and four kids (Kaleb-12, Aubrey-11 and Paige-8 & Booker-1), to the Lowcountry to enjoy this special way of life!
