Greetings Third Grade Parents,  

Summer Reading Camp has officially started! Remember, attendance is mandatory if your third-grade child was invited to Summer Reading Camp. Students must attend Summer Reading Camp to be promoted to the 4th grade. Camp begins at 7:30 and ends at 3:00 Monday through Thursday. The bus will pick the children up at the normal time and normal stop. Please arrive at the bus stop ten minutes before the scheduled pick-up. We look forward to seeing your child at camp tomorrow!

All students (New and Returning) Must Register

On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, JC CATE held its first annual completer ceremony where students from Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence and Hardeeville Junior & Senior High School received their completer certificates and honor cords to represent their perspective pathways. There was a wide range of certificates earned. 60 Seniors earned certifications during the 2022-2023 school year. Some seniors earned multiple certifications bringing the total to 84 certifications earned by the class of 2023, with several more on the way. These numbers do not include Juniors and Sophomores who earned certifications and Seniors that have yet to complete their certification tests.

Andria Wright, Sophomore and Design 3 student at Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence won first place in the US House of Representative Jim Clyburn’s Art Competition. She unveiled her winning work of art at the JC CATE Completer Ceremony on May 17, 2023. Her photo titled, Metazurial, will hang in the U.S. Capitol for one year along with all of the other Congressional Districts' winners.

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated.

Students submit entries to their representative’s office, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. It is a great honor to have a winner of such a prestigious honor come from Jasper County. We are proud of Andria. We will encourage her to continue to use her skills to further her goals.
