JCSD Energy Saving Initiative Saves the District $570,000 Since June 2019

In June of 2019, Jasper County School District started an energy savings initiative in partnership with CMTA Energy Solutions.

The project scope included solar panel installations, indoor/outdoor LED lighting upgrades for three campuses, new rooftop HVAC Systems and new low-flow plumbing fixtures.

As a result of this forward-looking project, we are proud to report a 46% reduction in energy usage across our 2 campuses and District office. Water usage is also down 56%. Our energy costs per square foot have been reduced from $1.29 per square foot to $0.81 per square foot.

Between June 2020 and July 2021 the school district saved $356,980 on energy costs and since the beginning of the energy savings initiative in June 2019 the district has saved $570,001.

Mr. Roger Maybrier from CMTA Energy Solutions presented this wonderful news to the JCSD Board of Education during our November 8th Board Meeting.
