Weather Update – Sunday, February 1, 2026

While the winter weather system has moved out of our area, snow remains on roadways. With temperatures forecasted to drop into the single digits tonight, there is concern that remaining snow may refreeze and create hazardous travel conditions.

Out of an abundance of caution and due to the potential for refreeze on roads, Jasper County School District will operate on an eLearning schedule on Monday, February 2, 2026.

A decision regarding school operations for Tuesday, February 3, 2026, will be announced on Monday as conditions are further evaluated.

Thank you for your patience and continued cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.

Weather Update – Friday, January 30, 2026

Jasper County School District is closely monitoring another winter weather system forecasted to impact our region this weekend. According to the National Weather Service, there is increasing confidence in unseasonably cold temperatures, strong winds, and the potential for accumulating snowfall across portions of the area.

The primary period of concern is Saturday afternoon, January 31, through midday Sunday, February 1, 2026, when winter weather impacts and dangerously low wind chills may occur. We will continue to monitor conditions closely in coordination with Emergency Management and the National Weather Service.

An update regarding the status of school operations for Monday, February 2, 2026, will be communicated later this weekend as forecast details become clearer.

Please continue to watch for updates.
